  • Celea has now contracted Qureight as the end-to-end imaging CRO for the phase 3 SURPASS-IPF trial, including Fibr8™ and four additional AI imaging models
  • Joint poster at CHEST 2026 presents analysis completed as part of Qureight’s work on Celea’s phase 2b ELEVATE-IPF trial, comparing enrolled patients’ baseline fibrosis severity with the PROFILE cohort, illustrating the approach behind Qureight’s Enrolled Cohort Reports

Cambridge, UK, 20 October 2026 – Qureight, an end-to-end imaging CRO providing enterprise-grade imaging and precision endpoints for clinical trials for lung and heart disease, today announced it has been selected by Celea Therapeutics as the imaging CRO to support Celea’s Phase 3 SURPASS-IPF clinical trial. Qureight will also present a joint poster with Celea Therapeutics at CHEST 2026 on quantitative imaging analysis completed during Celea’s phase 2b ELEVATE-IPF trial in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF).

Using Qureight’s Fibr8™ model, the analysis compared baseline lung fibrosis severity in patients enrolled in ELEVATE-IPF with a well-characterised, prospectively recruited IPF cohort (PROFILE). Building on their Phase 2b work, Celea has now contracted Qureight as the end-to-end imaging CRO for its phase 3 SURPASS-IPF trial.

IPF is a chronic, progressive interstitial lung disease marked by fibrosis or scarring of the lung tissue, with limited treatment options available. Celea’s dose-finding phase 2b ELEVATE-IPF study evaluated the safety and efficacy of deupirfenidone compared to pirfenidone and placebo in patients with IPF, and demonstrated slowed progression of disease over 26 weeks1. Qureight analysed baseline high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) scans from ELEVATE-IPF as part of its Phase 2b scope, then compared fibrosis extent with baseline scans from PROFILE. The results showed that fibrosis extent was well matched showing comparable baseline fibrosis severity in the two cohorts. The work illustrates the approach behind Qureight’s Enrolled Cohort Reports: using quantitative imaging to characterise the patients enrolled in a trial, helping build confidence in trial interpretation and future Phase 3 development.

Building on the successful results from the ELEVATE-IPF study, the SURPASS-IPF study will evaluate deupirfenidone three times daily at an 825 mg dose across 52 weeks to assess potential superiority against pirfenidone to slow the rate of lung function decline. Under its end-to-end imaging CRO contract for SURPASS-IPF, Qureight will provide imaging services using its AI-powered 3D imaging platform and five models: Fibr8™ for fibrosis, Lung8™ for lung volume, Glass8™ for ground-glass opacity, Air8™ for airways and Vascul8™ for pulmonary vasculature.

Dr Simon Walsh, Chief Scientific Officer, Qureight, commented: “We are delighted to continue partnering with Celea Therapeutics as deupirfenidone progresses through a phase 3 clinical trial. The analysis we are presenting at CHEST shows how imaging can help characterise the patients recruited to a trial and put their baseline disease severity in context. We are pleased to build on our Phase 2b work as Celea’s end-to-end imaging CRO for SURPASS-IPF.”

The joint CHEST 2026 poster will report the ELEVATE-IPF comparison with PROFILE and describe the planned use of quantitative HRCT to assess the distribution of baseline fibrosis severity in SURPASS-IPF:
